Hi Guys,
So I was in L.A. this week !!!
I had the pleasure to play at the Hollywood Bowl with Joe Zawinul Syndicate and for my big surprise and great pleasure one of my favorite musician/guitarist was with us on stage, the awesome Scott Henderson.
This Guy is an alien, I really love how he plays and as human being is really a great Guy.
I was also at La Vee Lee tuesday night for hanging, I saw a band with Joey Heredia, Steve Weingart and a bass player singer, I don't remember the name but it was good.
A lot of energy and some good vibes was there too.
Joey is great player, I like how he plays and he was really sweet with me when Jeff Richman intoduce me to him.
Steve Weingart is AWESOME !!!
Really incredible keyboard player, and as human being, really a very sweet gentleman.
You Guys in L.A., I hope that you know how kucky you are to have all this great musicians around !!!
Anyway, I like L.A. and I hope to come back there very soon.

PS : by the way, tonight one of my favorite band (Weappon Of Choice) with one of my Master ("Fish" Fisher) are playing at Temple Bar, go check it out, it's gonna be really great !!!

Scott is indeed a great player, he was 6 months ahead of me at MI. I remember when he got the gig with Jean Luc Ponty sitting in a practice room trying to shed the charts.

No 40, the bass player is Marco Mendoza. This is one of my favorite trios from LA. And Steve Weingart, who now plays and arranges for the Dave Weckl Band, was replacing super keyboard player, Brazilian Renato Neto, who is now on tour with Prince and John Blackwell !
Yeah that's a killer trio! Marco Mendoza was doing the Whitesnake tour, next is the Schon/Castronovo group "Soul Sirkus".

He plays with Withesnake, that's why I saw Tommy Aldrige there...
I can say that I'm in the Joe Zawinul Syndicate yes, sharing the gigs with Nath Townsley.
And Scott Henderson, I remember him during the first Elektric Band tour in Europe in the 80's, look the show in Spain, Patitucci and Corea are smiling each other during the Scott's solo so amazing !!!!
It was the best Elektric Band to me.
Hey Brad, I will let you know if I'm coming in the windy Michael Jordan's City...

I saw Nate Townsley w Joe Z last year in Saratoga & it was great. [Of course.]
And I saw Scott w him back in the very late 80's w Cornell Rochester on kit...if i rem correctly, it was Veasley on bass...great show too.
You must be a good player [playing w Joe [img]wink.gif[/img] ]...were you "subbing" ["one-off'er"] with Joe or is it a steady or semi-steady gig?

There is a "live" CD , recorded at the La Ve Lee club in LA, of the Marco Mendoza, Joey Heredia and Renato Neto trio. Recorded in 1998, it's a great collector"s item. Trio sounds like 6 musicians !
